PIO Application through BLS still showing No Record Found

what are the docs we need to send for us born baby for indian paretns.

I'm not clear on documents.It will be very helpfull if i get a list from somebody who got PIO card recently for their children.Can we use USPS to mail the documents. What is shipping label?..What is the order of documents.

so, after 3 weeks of processing, this morning I got the PIO card for my son. He's good for the next 15 years to travel to India.

So I went home in the evening and had a look at the PIO card.. Its handwritten, no printed credentials, its gray color and made of cheap stuff, there was a thick white-out correction fluid to mask something in the second page.

Overall I'm very disappointed with the quality of the PIO card.. paints a sad picture of Indian Govt.

Today the status shows updated on BLS site as "Processing at Consulate General". So it took only 8 work days (not counting the day it reached them) for the status to be put on the website.

Here's my sob story..

I downloaded the PIO application from bls website on 3rd July, filled it and sent it to NY address, but Fedex returned the package saying addressee not at the address. On 11th July I checked the website and now they had new pio forms uploaded with a new address. So I had to cancel the money order, make a new one and print the application all over again. Try taking fingerprints of a 5 month old baby.. as if once wasn't a pain.

If it was a private service I should have asked for a refund and an apology, but alas its the Indian Govt we are talking about.

So now I sent to the correct address and it reached on 6th August, but it is 13th today and it says "No Records available" still. Reading on this forum I should wait another week for it to show up.

Why did they reduce the service fee from 12 bucks to 4.70 if service is going to be pathetic? I'd rather pay Travisa 12 bucks for timely processing with 2nd day updates.

For me its almost a month now.
Application sent: July 6th
Application Postal tracking: Reached BLS office NY on 8th July
No Status Update till July 15th
Then Status Update to Under Processing on July 22nd and Application date is shown as July 22 2013 (Almost 2 week after my application reached)
Next status update to Processing at consulate General on July 23rd.... and Still it's in same status even after 2 week.

Total time till today : 4 weeks and still waiting.

I had applied to PIO for my son on 8-July by mail (next day delivery). It reached to BLS on 9th July. But it didn't processed till 17th July. And on 18th July it started showing me that it is under process. I got the mail on 18 that your application is submitted to BLS.
This is one place where BLS is lagging my be due to overload of work.
on next day it was showing me that processing at consulate general.
and then till 29 there was no update, and on 29-july evening I got status as ready for dispatch.
again on next day it showed that dispatched via courier i.e. 30th July.
And then I guess they dispatched it on 1st Aug and it reached me on 2nd as I had next day return courier.
Customer representative of BLS were hard to reach i.e. long waiting time, sometime 40 min sometime in 5 min.
But they were giving correct status, that is what it looked to me.
It looks to me that they are overloaded with work and may be therefore there are initial delay in processing.

My application status with passport number still shows " Application not found" with postal tracker they says received on 11th July.

Printing submitted OCI application

HI,

I am trying to print OCI application that I submitted online. But it says File reference number does not belong to you. Any of you faced this issue?

I did not get an auto pop up print option when I submitted initially.

so no one called me after waiting 48 hours and more. I tried to calling the same phone number and the phone number does not work anymore.

the i decide to track money order that i sent to bls with my application the funny part is the money order was cashied on July 9 2013 in NY. There is no update on my application and i can not track my application. No one from BLS has called me and their phone number does not work anymore.


So i do not know what to do. I think i may give it a month before i contact BBB and district attorney of MA for BLS is not providing customers info on their applications. This is ridiculous there may be hundreds of people who have this problem and they do not know what to do. this is so disappointing for Indian Govt. and people will laugh at them of how 3rd class system they operate on.

Are you on H1 visa or else?
If on H1, you can resubmit application and also provide H1 Extension approval.

For me my H1 and I94 is going to expire on 28 Aug. If my application didnt approve before that may be I will fall in same issue. As I filed my extension but it is not approved yet. So waiting on both items now: PIO Card before Aug 28 and H1 extension in next month. As I need to travel in October. So I need everything before that.

I had same problem I applied for PIO foe my kid, there was no status update in 15 days but at 15th day I got the parcel back home and case was rejected since we are on I94 and visa is expired. We are going back this month now not sure what to do.

Please share you views.

For me status updated after exactly 15 days.
This is what they told me during my last conversation with them.
Also I file case 5-6 days back, they Its been more than 10 days but I am not able to track. So they file my case and told me someone will come. But as expected I didn't get any call. So I call them again on Monday then by afternoon I was able to track. But I am not sure whether they did something or it updated after 15 days.

I tried reaching the same phone numbers but no one is responding or max it will go into voice mail after 5 min wait time, Is there any other number?

after two days of research this will help all of us:

you have to call BLS Service the phone number for NY is 18886837830.
you must have the following info available:
Tracking Number by postal
Application reference number
passport number
Name of applicant

They are very disorganized and you have to speak very loud for them to hear you. They told me that someone will call 24-48 hrs. Hopefully they do. They will escalate the issue. I sent my oci applicant in the beginning of July and reached NY on 7-5-13.
