Hi All,
My wife's Passport was about to expire on April 19th 2015. Before we could renew it, we had to travel to India due to a family emergency. We returned on Dec 6th 2014, but since her passport expiry was less than 6 months, she got her I94 only till April 19th 2015 (passport expiry date), even though the stamped visa is valid till April 2017. After returning from India, we applied for new passport and got the renewed passport a few days back.
Her Visa type is L2 and is valid till April 2017.
Here are my questions:
1) Now since we have the renewed passport, how do we get her I94 validity extended (correct the I94) till the visa validity date ?
2) Do we have to travel outside country for getting a new I94 ?
3) If we have to travel outside the country, then what are the options ? (Mexico ? Canada ? which places in Mexico ?). Or do we have to travel to India and come back ?
4) Can this be done by visiting the nearest CBP or USCIS office ? Or is there any online application option ?
