We applied for OCI cards to Houston office in Sept 2006. There is a web site to check the status of your case but unfortunately we did not keep the case number written down. I can not locate the copy of my application either. Hence I am unable check the status online.
So far consulate or any other authority has not sent any letter about approval or acknowledgement. There is no communication from the consulate. Tried calling them but no response!
Is there any way to inquire about the status (besided online inquiry)? Should I expect that consulate will send me a notification when the OCI application is processed/approved? Why do they charge $25 for mailing?
We need to visit India quickly since my wife's grandmother is not feeling well. Any help is appreciated!!
