PIO card application in UK
I am Indian citizen resident in UK for more than 8 yrs. I have right to stay in UK for indefinite period. Two and half years ago I married to British girl in London at the legal registrar office. Her parents are British citizen of Bangladeshi origin. My wife is born and brought up in UK. She never held Bangladeshi passport. Her parents also do not have bangladeshi passport anymore.
Recently, my wife applied for PIO card in Indian High commission in UK, Since my wife and I want to permanently move to India this year. As per eligibility criteria she qualifies for PIO card being a spouse of Indian national. But, Her application was refused on the grounds that her parents are of bangladeshi origin that’s why she can't get PIO card. This is a huge problem for us, since we want to permanently move to India and I am not aware of anyother visa which will allow her to live with me in India. Please advice me if there is any other visa that will let my wife to live with me in India.
