Work VISA for MNC

I am a US Citizen and would be working for a MNC (multi-national company) based here in US, in India.

Do you need to obtain a work visa?

I don't have much time for PIO or OCI, so this is one option I am exploring. As what I read here on immihelp.com, a Work Visa is required when working for an Indian company, if you are a foreign national. But does not mention anything about MNCs.

any thoughts?
