Promotion/role change while waiting on priority date

I am currently on O-1 visa. My employer filed an EB-1 petition for me and was approved in August 2023 (country: India). I am waiting for the priority date to become current. My petition was filed under scientist of extraordinary ability category. I am currently a senior scientist. If I am not changing my research field and if my responsibilities are going to be the same, can I get promoted to principal scientist or technology manager role? I talked with our immigration specialist and was told that changing my role to technology manager will raise some red flags to USCIS. My manager is also downplaying my promotion. So, currently I am taking the salary of a senior scientist and doing the job of a technology manager. Please advise on how I can convince my immigration and very reluctant management that I can get promoted since my field and responsibilities will remain the same.
