New on GC Process

Hi everyone:
I am new in green card process. Worked with my current company for the past 2 years and had my H1B for 2 years. On 3/29/2010 I started with my green card process. Lawyer gave me A#xxxxx-xxxxx. I have few questions/concerns:
(1) What should I do next?
(2) Where can I track on the status?
(3) How do I know if my case is audit or not? Will lawyer knows or I need to check with them frequently?

I hope someone can help me. My lawyer doesnt communicate with me much and I am worried if I miss something.
