I am writing in hopes that I might be able to get some information for my questions regarding tourist policies for former residents in Germany- here is my situation: I am about to move to the Ukraine after living in Germany for nearly 3 years. In Germany I was on a residency permit/visa because I have been working for the International School of Stuttgart. I will have to surrender that visa when I leave. In the Ukraine I will also be working at an International school and I am in the process of getting a work visa to live and work in Kiev.
I have a few questions about my status and eligibility for travel within German and the Schengen region once my visa ends here in Germany:
Question #1-I have been informed that I must "deregister with the immigration office in Stuttgart at which point they will stamp my visa that it is nul & void and I am no longer considered a "resident" of Germany. Exactly how much time after I "deregister" will I have to exit the country (24 hours, a few days, week, month, 90 days?)
Question #2- I was informed that once exiting Germany I may not reenter for 90 days because I am going to a non-Schengen treaty nation and I have been residing here in Germany for longer then 90 days. Can I not reenter any of the other 26 Schengen nations as well for 90 days or only Germany?
Question #3- Once my 90 day "probation" is over how often can I visit Germany ( I know the 90 days in six months rule) but if I don't max out on 90 days in 6 months can I keep visiting or do I have to wait another period of time?
I REALLY need these answers so I don't accidentally fly back to Germany from the Ukraine and get told by passport control I can't actually leave the airport..
