L1 to H1B COS queries

Hi,

I am currently employed with Company A on L1B visa since June 2012. Company A is filing for an extension in May 2015 (under normal processing) as the visa and i94 are getting expired in June, 2015. I presume it takes around 3-4 months for normal processing so I am expecting the decision...

I have a question on H1B maxout. I was selected for H1B in 2007 lottery and got H1B approved for 3 years expiring in 2010. I was in US for 3 months in 2007, 2 months in 2008 and 5 months in 2009, after this my H1B visa expired and was not extended.

My H1 was filed on 6th June 2012 by my company with COS L1 to H1 in Regular Processing.
It is not approved yet.

Now, I need to go to India for my personal work in August. I know if I leave US prior to approved H1 my COS will be cancelled, Am I right?...
