Can I travel to India and return to USA while my H1B amendment is in RFE status?

I have valid H1B stamped till sep2018. Right now am in USA. We have filed an amendment for my VISA, because the location of work has been changed from NY to IN but Client and employer are same. Recently I received RFE for my amendment, apparently this is 2nd RFE for same amendment....
