A few days over 90 days of OPT Unemployment allowance
To Whom It May Concern
I am an F1 student that graduated last year and just realized that I am a few days above the 90 days of unemployment. I am trying to rectify my status and had a few questions.
1. Do public holidays count as unemployment days too?
2. I sometimes volunteered for an organization during the summer. However, I never volunteered for more than 15 hours per week. I understand that you need to at least work for 20 hours to be considered employed, but could the individual days of volunteering count as employment days?
3. I am checking whether I plugged in a wrong starting date for one of my previous jobs. Which date should I plug into SEVIS?
Assuming I got a job offer on day X and accepted via phone/email
a. ) On Day X+2 I received the contract ( which was written the same day)
b. )On day X+4 I signed the contract
c.) On day X+6 I started working for the first time (the same date was in the contract as the ?commence date?)
4. During a scheduled visit to my home country my father got sick and I took care of him. I postponed my flight a week to ensure that he was well again. Could this week be added against the unemployment limit?
