Hello,
I found a job 6 months before my PhD defense and started my post-completion OPT before my graduation. I defended my PhD last week but my committee gave me a lot of corrections and wanted me to defend it again in 3 months. I got my masters from the same university 2 years ago. My questions are:
It is highly unlikely but what will happen to my OPT status if I fail my PhD defense?
Will I lose all my rights to be employed and live in USA and leave the country immediately?
Since I have my masters degree from the same institution, can I still keep my OPT and keep working in the US?
