Travel after applying for OPT

I am a MBA student to graduate in Feb 2009. I have to travel to India for my wedding in March. My OPT start date will be April 15 and I will return to US only by the 31st of March. Will I be allowed to enter into the country? Or should I apply for OPT only after I come back from India.

Apply for OPT beforehand. Once you graduate you only have 30 days to apply for OPT and without EAD you will not be able to travel and return.
For returning you will need valid F1 visa, EAD card, I-20 with OPT endorsement and travel signature and it is also advisable to keep job offer letter in hand.
