First of all Many thanks to this platform and the people who shared their experiences to made this useful for the people going for visa process first time in life.
I want to participate for the same cause and share my experience.
My OFC interview was scheduled for 12:30 PM 12th May 2015 at New Delhi VAC, I reached around 11:15 AM and started waiting for the queue to be formed for my batch. Around 12:15 we were instructed to form the queue and I was almost last in the queue(was not so confident about the process and wanted to follow the Guru's heading the queue
).
When I reached to First check post where a Local personnel was checking the passport, OFC confirmation and Interview Confirmation and found some discrepancy in my name written in Passport and the DS 160 confirmation, he instructed me to get it corrected by modifying my DS160 application asap so that they can process further. I went outside the VAC premise and searched for the place where I can get the internet connectivity and laptop or computer to create new DS160 so fortunately I found a shop where I found all the adequate and required resources and got it corrected however I had to pay 300 times extra
amount for this.
I went back to VAC premise and got the green signal from the first check post and entered in the VAC place where I got a token and waited for my token# to appear on LED. When it appeared I went to respective window and done the finger printing and photo clicking.
Very Next day my visa interview was scheduled at 11:30 AM 13th May 2015 and I reached around 11:00 AM where I did not bring anything which was prohibited. Waited around 15 mins and people of the same batch started gathering and making queue post 5 mins I entered in Embassy and a person fro embassy came to me asked for my passport to whom we handed over our passport and he instructed to go to first window where a Lady was matching the finger prints and confirming for the visa interview. I got the go ahead from her and went to next section where I was instructed to follow yellow line.
I was standing before the window and behind the yellow line after 5-6 mins a smart VO called me by making a hand gesture and below conversation took place.
me: Good Morning Sir.
VO: Good Morning, passport please.
Me: Handed over my passport
VO: While Scanning the barcode mentioned behind the passport asked me why are going to US?
me: Explained in very polite manner and he was looking convinced with my answer.
VO: Which company are you working with?
me: xxxxx
VO: Oh! you working with 'xxxxx'
me: Yes
VO: Where are you going?
me: I mentioned proper address and said Minneapolis, Minnesota.
VO: Is it you headquarter?
me: Yes
VO: Duration?
me: 2Weeks
VO: What's the purpose, he asked again?
me: I explained again.
VO: Are you married?
me: Yes, and I have 2 kids (VO was about to ask whether I have kids or not, but I answered before he asked)
Then he said very calmly: Your visa is approved sir, you can collect you passport in next 2 to 3 days.
I said Thanks and left the window.
