FNU Issue with the B1 Visa
Hi Friends,
I have a B1 visa valid till 2020 and I have to now i am applying for Australian PR. The issue is that "surname" field in my passport is blank. The Given name field has my name as Nishanth Ramesh. My First Name is Nishanth and Last/Surname is Ramesh, and my visa has FNU as Given name and Nishanth Ramesh as my Sur Name. I traveled many times to the US but never faced any problem, But the problem is much bigger if i use the passport as any proof in India or for migration, as it doesn't have surname and I am planning to change/Correct my passport and now my question is if I follow the Name Change process and get my name changed , will by existing B1 visa be canceled? or what are the consequences?
I have gone through couple of Blogs and the answers are more on their personal analysis, I would appreciate any official links/ documents of the US Embassy on this problem.
Friends, I hate to say this, But THIS IS VERY URGENT.
