  • N600 vs. N400

    Hello everyone,

Let me give you a little background story first:
I moved to the USA in 2006 at the age of 15 with a B1/B2 visa. I overstayed my visa and was adopted in 2007 by US citizens. At the time of adoption I believe I was still 15, however on my birth certificate the filed date says I was already 16 (not sure if the filed date means the adoption already has been completed and final). Also the date my birth certificate was issued is about 1,5 years later in 2009 and in about 3 months I got my green card at the age of 18. I lived with my adoptive parents till I was 19 and then moved out. My question is, am I already a US citizen though my adoptive parents? Or do I still have to apply for citizenship and fill out the N400 form?

Any help would be very appreciated!
