I have a J2 visa and i am still to leave India for America.Can the work permitt formalities be completed from any state or city of U.S.A or is it only from the state J1 visa holder is working. For example if J1 visa holder is working in Columbia, South Carolina then the J2 dependent can apply for work permitt from Maryland or any other state. I understand that the work permitt is valid for the whole country and can be applied from any place in U.S.A. Please confirm.
