Waiving J1 visa requirements while working from abroad

Dear,

Currently, I am on J1 visa and I live in the US. I got an official approval from my university to spend 4 months abroad, working remotely. While abroad, I would like to use a health insurance in that other country and pause the one I have in the US.

Please could you tell me whether in this case I can waive the standard health insurance J1 visa requirements? Thank you.
