US student visa

Hey everybody,

I'm from Cairo , Egypt..

I'm a medical student,23 years old.applying for J1

I read that the us embassy will resume working with visas next sunday.I tried to schedule an interview.but:

Calling center at 090070600 is not working.

Does everybody face this problem?

I am applying for a j1 visa, have my papers ready.

I have to travel by May 5th,2011 to start my rotation at university hospitals in the states,that is the deadline for my traveling.

Do you think I will be able to get a visa in this narrow time.

Please help me with your opinion/advice..
