Changes in DS 160 after biometric is done

Hi,
I have issue with my DS 160 i noticed it after my biometric was done . Instead of monthly US salary i have given Yearly salary. I checked with VFS team they asked to submit a new form and carry copy of both for interview. Is this fine, will this make any issue. Instead of submitting a new DS160 should i inform the Counselor directly that there is mistake in form. Which is more advisable, Please give me your thoughts.
