Can H4 dep travel to US with two weeks of Visa pending?

Hi, My H1B and spouse H4 Visa expires on May 15 2014 and my employer will file H1 and H4 extension petition next week. My Spouse has to travel to India in March and planning to return in May 01 2014. My query is:
1. Will she be facing any issue in Port of entry as her valid Visa expires in two weeks?
2. Will her H4 Extension petition become invalid if she travels to India?
If it becomes invalid, what is the next step to her Visa extended?
