My friend and her Husband are in H4 and H1B respectively. He recently lost his job... and is actively searching for a new one. Meanwhile my friend wants to move from H4 to F1. Can she do it?

Any COS need to apply before the last day of the employment. If not, it will be considered as out of status if they have valid I 94.

If I 94 is expired, then they will be considered as illegal.
