Gap between old and new I94 dates of H1B

I have joined CompanyB when I was waiting for my CompanyA's H1B Extension approval.

My visa and I94 expired on 01Oct13 but CompanyA applied for extension (file recieved on 5sep13 by USCIS) well before the expiry date.

CompanyB applied (28Oct13) for extension on the basis of companyA's receipt number, got RFE after i resigned CompanyA but still joined companyB with my RFE

status (as i have reasigned already).

So my status at the time of joining is

VISA and I94 are expired
CompanyA petition was waiting for extension
CompanyB petition was waiting with RFE status

2 weeks Later status is like

CompanyA petition got approved (i have checked status it was approved for few days) and then revoked.

Few weeks later after revoke
CompanyB submitted RFE response and got approved on 5thFeb2014, got extension for 1 year.

Recived petition copy with new I94 with start 5thFeb2014 to 4thFeb2015.

My question is.. though my petition extension requests were with USCIS during that time..is this gap between my old I94 expiry date(1stOct13) and new I94

start date (5thFeb2014) fall under unauthorized/illegal stay?

Appreciate your help on this.
