I am currently on H1-B. My company is very small and FMLA does not apply to them. So I took an unpaid maternity leave for 3 months.
I was initially supposed to join my job after the 3 months but I am unable to do so because of personal reasons. I would like to quit to move on to H4.
I wanted to know if there is any problem from the H1-b side for me or the company if I quit after an unpaid leave. And, should I or my company be informing the USCIS that I am no longer employed with them.
