Hi,
I am working with company ABC and they filed for my H1-B which got approved and is going to be effective from oct 1st. With the current situation in my company I think I might be laid off. I wanted to know what are my choices to avoid going out of status:
1) Should I resign before oct 1st and that will help me fall under OPT? If I resign will I automatically fall under OPT?
2) Wait and keep searching for other jobs. What if I get laid off after Oct 1st?
