How soon can I quit my h1b job after submitting the Green Card application

Hi, I'm currently on H1B visa and have been thinking of quitting my job. In the mean time, I'm going to get married to a US citizen. Would it be any issues if I quit my job immediately after I submit the green card application? Or should I wait until I receive the work authorization?
