I used to work for an employer in the USA 2 years ago. I had to leave the USA to work at the same employer's India center because I maxed out my H1-B visa and because my GC petition was audited. Since then my GC petition was approved and I now have a I140 (EB2) with the same employer.
I have been offered another another job with the same employer and am looking to decide on a visa strategy. My employer wants to proceed with a H1B consular notification. I am not sure what that means. I was with the impression that I had 0 days left on my H1-B visa when I left the USA 2 years ago. Can someone help me understand what my employer is trying to do and if its even a valid option considering my H1 is maxed out (in my understanding).
