Hi,
I have a H1b which got stamped from company X in 2006 for 3 years. I was in US for 1.5 months the moment I got stamped and returned back due to personal emergency. I was then back @ US in 2007 for a period of close to 3 years. I got an extn done in 2009 and got it approved & extended till 2012. I returned to India in 2010 due to personal reasons. The H1B petition got expired in June 2012. I understand that if there is unused time left on the H1B we can still go ahead and reuse it for the remaining period if the current employer(Y) is ready to do the processing outside the cap and ready to do a transfer and renewal. Is this a correct understanding?
