Passport Expiry Date before H1B expiry?

My passport expires in July 2018 and I have my H1B interview scheduled this month. So will there be any issues in stamping as the H1b duration is 3 years and my passport is expiring before that. I live in India and as per the rule, I can't renew passport before July 2017 (one year).

I did read somewhere that you passport should be valid for at least six months after H1b duration.

Kindly guide me in this regard.
