Travel to India while H1B extension if filed

Hi All,
This is Shilpa.
I have a current H1B visa stamping valid uptil Feb, 2018. My H1B 6 year tenure ends in September 2018.My employer has just recently filed for another extension based on approved I140.
I plan to travel to India in month of November 2017 for a period of two weeks.
Would it be safe to travel with an H1 B extension filed but no decision yet, with approved I 140 and a valid stamping expiring in Feb, 2018.

Please share your insight and help me make this decision.
