I have transferred H1b visa from twice- from employer A to B, and then B to C (its been 5 months since I joined employer C, but there is a layoff that I am impacted. Last day is Oct 2nd, 2017. Employer C applied for h1b transfer, while I got my receipt No, i haven't received any approval of the transfer. (i don't know if there is a way to check).
On my passport, I only got visa stamped by the first employer A which was valid until July 2017. Since I left employer A two years ago and have changed jobs twice. The subsequent companies didn't file my visa extension and told me that as long as I have the h1b transfer done, i should be good to go.
A to B. Visa expired by July 17
employer B got the H1 transfer done and the petition is valid till 2018.
Now I left employer B and joined employer C for over 5 months, All I have is the receipt no.
Now, because of layoff with the currently employer C , I found another employer D ready to transfer my H1. However, the lawyer says that my visa has expired. Employer C is willing to help me. Please advise what are my options.
