  • How can I make sure for correct departure record date while leaving for H4 stamping?

    Hi,

    I have some confusion regarding my arrival - departure record and need some light on this topic. below is my timeline it the US in short;

    ? Last entered in the US on F1 visa stamped on my passport in 2011 and given a white card i-94 with last date "D/S".
    ? Got H1b approved with COS in 10/2014 and got new i-94 with last date in 9/2017.
    ? Passport renewed in the US in 8/2017.
    ? Going to home country for H4 visa based on my wife's approved H1b(COS from H4) and will come back with stamped visa.
    ? My i-94 is already expired and wanted to leave before 180 days passed.
    ? I want to make sure that my departure date will be recorded correctly without any issues.

    When I check my travel history on CBP website with my expired passport number, it shows too many arrivals and departures after 2011 though the fact is I never left the US after 2011.

    My questions;

    1. Will it be any arrival-departure record issue because of entered and leaving with different passport numbers?
    2. Should I surrender both of my i-94s (White card and attached with i-797; both are expired) to the airline while leaving? or No need to care about surrender anything and just leave?
    3. Are there any steps should I take before I leave the US next week?

    Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
