I have amendment in progress for the location I am working in. It is still in received status. I have to travel to India in January 2019. With the current dates for California center, I am not sure if any action would be taken on my amendment till that time.
I already have an extension approved till Sept 2019 (i94 till that date). This is also for the city I am already in. In between I had one amendment to a different city denied. But since another amendment to my current city was already filed I am still in US. Visa on my passport is expired.
Can I Travel to India in Jan 2019? I will need to go for stamping. Should I do that with my amendment receipt (assuming there is no movement on that) or the approved extension petition?
Any suggestions appreciated.
PS: i did read a similar thread (3 years old) on this forum where a user replied he went for stamping while his amendment was pending and even returned back to US after stamping was done.
