Hold H1B, Still In India, Employer asks to submit I797

Hi,

I hold H1B, i am in india, havent yet travelled.

Now my h1 employer asking me to submit I797. (he wants me to submit to his indian office in chennai).

What are the problems i could face, if i submit I797 now?

My spouse need to go for H4. Can a copy of I797 will do?
suppose i want to do h1 transfer in future, would a copy of I797 do? Or original is required for this?
