Hello all!
I just got a job offer with a Fortune500 company (German) and will start filling out some formal application documents etc, and negotiate with them next week. My problem is that I have only 15-16 months left of my H1B. I am on the second term of the H1B.
I am afraid when I will raise this point, that they have to transfer my H1B, that it could become an issue. I've heard that some companies' policies in these cases where the applicant is at the end of the visa period, that they will have to apply for the Green Card immediately. Obviously not every employer is willing to apply for the GC on the first day when a new employee starts.
Does anyone have this experience to share? Will it become an issue? Or will it go smooth? Again, it's a very big multi-national company, the brand is world-known, and they do actually sponsor H1B (and L1s) to starters I've heard. I am just not sure if a big company like this would transfer my H1B visa as I've got only 15-16 months left.
