I was working for employer A with visa stamp on my passport that expired March 2007. However I quit and started working with employer B from June 2006.
Now I am going to Mumbai for vacation and would need to get my visa stamped again with the new employer. So am I eligible for visa renewal i.e. do I have to select Indian citizen resident in US for getting visa appointment? (I am currently in the US)
The criteria is as below (taken from their site)
1. have a U.S. visa that has expired less than 12 months ago - Expired March < 12 months
2. wish to apply for the same category visa (work, business, tourist, etc.) Same H1
3. are Indian nationals (hold Indian passports) Yes
4. are resident in the New Delhi, Chennai, or Mumbai consular districts (this category is not available to Kolkata based applicants). Mumbai
I satisfy all requirements however am not too sure because I changed employers and doesn not really mean a renewal!!!
