Port of Entry hurdles while in H1b, Visiting India - need help

I am on H1B, working here, have recent pay stubs, and continuation of my job.

I need to visit to india for 10 days, and hearing some stories of H1B candidates are questioning a lot and also heard rejections (Story - For a candidate who is doing job, visited India, has all the documents , but when he attended POE at Chicago, POE officer interviwed him and also called his client Manager, though client manager answered the Visa officer's (POEs) Call and recommended to allow this guy as the client comapny needs his services).

Now I am scared of visiting, but I have an emergency to go India this week.
Please post your valuble suggestions and any documents (Other than 797, recent paystubs, last year w2s and employment verification letter from my consulting company) I need to carry while returning in this situations.

I asked my manager to accompany me on an all expense paid trip home so that I need not face the same situation upon returning. He will be right next to me (in the USC line, of course) if the IO wants to speak to him.
Do you think I can come back without any issues with my manager? Should I also take my VP with me? He wants me to buy business class fare for him. I offered him Economy fare as I cannot afford a business class for him and piss off my boss.

-- if you have all necessory travel docs and you maintained your H1B status, no one at POE will ask you anything.... mostly at all international POE general questions they ask to everyone (h1b, L1, B1 - B2 holders too).... if POE officers have doubt then they will stop u.. otherwise not.... trust me
