Successful H4 stamping :)
Dear Members,
Let me start by thanking each one of you for providing me with timely help with my questions and queries.
My wife had her H4 interview today, July 14th, at the Delhi Consulate.
She got her VISA !
She had carried all the required docs viz.
- ds 156,157 (the VO kept both docs, unlike what is mentioned on the Delhi Consul site that the 157 isnt required. It was.)
- marriage certificate (VO dint ask for it)
- marriage albums (VO dint ask for it)
- copy of employer verifn letter (VO dint ask for it)
- copy of my 797 (VO dint ask for it)
- copy of my i-94 (VO dint ask for it)
- copy of my H1 VISA (VO DID ask for it)
- she did not carry any pay stubs as i have been in the US only for 20 days and am still waiting for my SSN (VO dint ask for it)
- she did not carry any bank statements for the same reason as above (VO dint ask for it)
the VO (male) asked her very few questions:
1. How and when did you meet your husband
2. Where did you meet your husband
3. How long have you been married
4. Where is your husband working and with what company
5. How long do you intend to stay in the US
6. Why are you going to the US
7. What are your educational qualifications
Thats all. It lasted 3 minutes precisely. After she answered all these questions, the VO told her that she will get her passport along with the VISA by courier in 4-5 working days.
Thats it ! I am SO happy and SO relieved ! Am glad her interview was successful !
