  • H1B extension after more than 5 years continuous stay in US (not on H1B fully)

    Hello guys,

I have a question on my H1B extension.
I have entered US in Jan 2005 on L1B visa to work on the client site for an indian company. I worked for them till Oct 2007 by when I have got a H1B visa thru another consultancy company in US. I left the indian company and started working in H1B from Oct 2007 to till date. My H1b expires by next year september 2010. Eventhough I was only working for 3 years using H1b, I have worked 2 yrs and 8 months using L1B visa. So totally I have been working in US for 5 yrs and 8 months by the time my H1B expires.
Is there any chance for even an year of H1B extension by next year?
Or should I have applied for Labor with my current employer before this september ie. 2009.
    Please shed some light.

    Thanks
