Visa approved - waiting for passport from last 3 weeks. Pls suggest

Hello,

I was on H4 status from 2007 to Sept 2008 and started working on my H1 from last Oct. Due to a family medical emergency I came to India in Sept this year. Since I am now on my H1, I have attended the visa interview in Hyderabad(India) consulate in 3rd week of Sept.. and I have been told that my visa is approved and I will receive my passport in a week's time. However, I am waiting to receive my passport from last three weeks. Whenever we call VFS helpline, they are saying it's in processing... so, when we called hyd consulate on Mon, they told me that they "need to do further administrative review and embassy will take the next steps after the review is completed".

I am not sure what it means completely, after that I have called couple of times to consulate to get some details, but they are just saying it requires additional administrative review. Even though I mention that I have a job in US (which is real) and I need to report back soon, as I came on sudden & unplanned leave.

Could someone please help me and throw some clarity or direction on the situation. Or if any of you have faced the same situation, please let me know what I should do next?

There are so many similar cases like yours. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to speed up the administrative process. The Embassy cannot issue you a visa before the completion of the AP nor can they waive the processing. There is no point in contacting the Embassy in this case.

The consulate isn't responsible for any prior travel plans that you might have. Lot of people have got thier visa stamped successfully after AP. The only possible thing to do here is to wait.

When was your visa issued , how long did you have to wait . Please reply?. I am facing the scenario , VFS online says its in processing and consulate people its admin processing ?

Visa is Approved but still waiting for my PassPort

I have attended L1B visa interview in hyderabad on 29th December. Visa officer told me that visa got approved and it will return back in 2~3 days and handed over I129-s forms which are approved one.
I have mailed to vfs people they say it is still under process. can any one tell me for how many days the process would be?
my flight tickets also booked now and i dont know will my passport comes in atleast one more week of time or not??

No one can predict. Every case is different. If it is under the admin process, it could take some time. There is nothing much you could do other than to wait. Hopefully you will get your passport back with the visa pretty soon.
