I am posting regarding 214 (b) received for an O3 visa application very recently.
Some background: O1 visa holder's visa was approved in summer 2019. The marriage took place few days after the visa interview of O1 visa holder. O3 visa applicant had interview few days ago.
O3 visa interview (occurred few days ago) proceeded something as follows:
V.O.: why do you want to want to travel to US?
Ans: spouse is in US.
V.O.: what is spouse doing?
Ans: told the job title.
V.O.: where is spouse?
Ans: told the location.
V.O.: when did marriage happen?
Ans: told the date.
V.O.: asks for passport copy of spouse.
Ans: gives the photocopy of visa and passport page to V.O.
V.O. then issues a 214(b)
I am confused as to what is the reason for 214(b). The V.O. did not even ask for marriage certificate or proof of marriage. The O1 visa holder has a visa that expires around 15 months from now.
