I was looking at USCIS site https://www.uscis.gov/i539online and it seems to say that if laid off while on an H1, I can simply file a transfer of status to B2 visitor, and I would be able to stay 6 months while job hunting instead of just the 60 day grace period. Does anyone have experience with doing this?
