Hello All,
Here is my situation. My H1b and I-94 are valid until Sep 21, 2021. However, I lost my job on July 10, 2020. Hence I have applied for a Change of status to H4 and requested an effective date from Sept 8, 2020. Today I got my H4 COS I797 A but it has starting day from March 10, 2021. I am not sure what is my status from Sep8, 2020 to Mar 9, 2021. Is it ok or Do I need to request a date change? Please suggest.
