Will H-1B grace period (2 months) after resignation still count in the 6 year H-1B?

Hi, I am going to switch from H-1B to F-1 soon however given the condition in India, I would like to wait out a little before going to India and getting my F-1 visa. Given I have only 1.5 years left on my H-1B out of the 6 years, I want to also try and preserve that if possible for my future employer after my studies. As a result I am thinking of resigning soon, but i dont know if the grace period will be still counted in the 6 years or will it not be counted in the 6 years?
