H1B Mail in rebate help

HI all,

I went thru some forum where I learned that on H1b you cannot do freelancing work or have any other source of income except your employer. I might be depositing a check of $800 which I got as mail in rebate is this considered illegal or will it come into picture when I file for GC.

Mail-in-rebate is not an issue. Keep documents to prove that it is indeed a mail-in-rebate because $800 in mail-in-rebate is a lot of money.
