I am a permanent employee in an IT firm in USA. I am on L2 visa and have an EAD. I want to apply for H1b visa this year as my L2 status is valid until 2023 only. My current employer may not sponsor my H1b this year due to some internal policies. Can I apply H1b through a consulting firm while working for my current employer? Are there any risks of applying H1b through a consulting firm? If my H1b gets approved, can i transfer H1b from consulting firm to my current employer ? TIA
