H1 extension after dwi in 2020

In 2020 , july i was arrested for DWI. I met with an accident hitting a pole after drinking . I severely regretted my actions and went through AA and alcoholic assessments and everything. I also travelled to india and came back after getting conviction carrying all the documents related to the case. my extension is coming up in September 2022. I am in a very nervous mode,as i am seeing posts that while extending visa,uscis is asking to go out of the country and get stamping. Please help me how i should handle this. I learnt my mistake and want to seek your help regarding my extension. even the stamping dates are not available in recent times as people are booking in malaysia, indonesia and dubai. I am quite freaked out after 2 years of drinking and driving WILL MY VISA BE APPROVED? Has anyone got approval after conviction without having to step out of country?
