With the recent crackdowns I want to do my part and report frauds.
An acquaintance of mine has come to the USA with the hopes of starting a project from a consultancy. That project used for the visa interview is not valid anymore so he’s basically chilling in the USA waiting for another project assignment. I’m **** scared of layoff at my current tech firm as I have the 60 day clock ticking if that happens - how is this person able to circumvent and just not work and stay in the USA?
I don’t think money is an issue for him so he’s able to live off family money. But my question is, is he legally allowed to stay here without a project?
