Change In VFS Message
I recently went to VFS to track passport and the message now says
Your Passport is under process at U.S Embassy/Consulate.
previously it also used to say "If your visa has been approved" .
Most likely it is just a message change and does not means anything. Just want to make sure everybody else is also seeing the same message ??

still i have no update on my case from hyd consulate website, called the consulate helpdesk as it has been more than 3 weeks i have submitted the docs. The representative mentioned that the docs have been recieved by VFS and forwarded to consulate for admin process and they will get back to me by mail and sms to submit the passport once the process comes to end. I explained that i'm unable to chk my case status online then she suggested to send the screenshot as of the errors so that they can help.Leave a comment:

@chennai29mar : I got mail from consulate on 24th..posted passport on 25th... I called on 26th to DOS and they said admin process is done...Again called on 27th hoping visa is issued.. However to my surprise I got answer that Admin processing is still not completed...I was totally confused... However got passport on 1st June with Visa stamped... Note that there was Memorial Day holiday to consulate ..hence it might have taken longer...Leave a comment:

@sub1976 : Your clearance was recvd on May 21 and passport was received on 2 June , that is delay of 11 days!!!. Did you called DOS in that time period? what did they told you ?Leave a comment:

Guys - Atlast I got approved Visa...
Interview Date : 6th Jan 2011
Issue : 221g Pink slip . No docs asked. Common Muslim Name.
Passport received Date: June 2nd 2011
Clearance Date : May 21st 2011
It has been a long frustrating wait ... . This forum has been wonderful support in keeping the faith and motivation.

They have not been updated your case id number in their status list... Initially I got the same message. after one week I got message like "Your case is currently undergoing processing. Please continue to check this website for updates on the status of your case. Any new information received will be posted to the website.". So dont worry about it. just wait and check

Hi,
When I checked with VFS, I came to know that my case is under adminstrative processing. It was not written adminstrative processing in my 221(g). It only ticked the client letter.
Also, is it the VFS helpdesk I should be contacting or any other help desk?
Is there a way to track it if it is adminstrative processing?

thanks for reply after looking at it i tried checking my status and this time it gave me a new error "We were not able to identify Case # 2011055-***-1, Please make sure you have entered your case number correctly." . I'm little worried now, called the consulate office they just replied the case is under processing and just hung up the phone when i tried to ask them why its saying case number is wrong. Please reply back if any1 is facing the same issue ... thanks friends.

221 (g) client letter
I came to india for Vacation. My wife couldn't join me and is still in US.
Visa Interview date: May 1st week 2011, on which I got 221(g) asking to submit client letter.
Client letter + Passport submitted : May 6 2011
Passport + Doc + 2nd Blue slip (221 G) returned : May 11 2011, (The same blue slip was returned with letter underlined and written 2nd request as I produced only my company letter and not client letter. My company said, it was OK to produce company letter)
Passport + CLient letter submitted : May 24 2011
Now I am waiting for the status. They asked for client letter and I submitted it. I am not sure why its taking longer than a week now. I was supposed to return on May 21.
Any suggestion on what I can do or how I can track my request? Should I send an e-mail to chennai consulate to know the status?Leave a comment:

Documents Submission Date: May 22 nd
I'm trying to check my status @
using my case number listed on the 221(G), but what worries me is it redirects to another webpage with error :
