My current employer won't/might not sponsor H1B. What are my options?

I lost one chance at H1B last year. This is my second chance. My employer is a Canadian-based startup that recently started the company in the US. I had to get them e-verified to be able to work. The job market made it difficult for me to find a job last year and I had to take up this one to pay bills. Now I don't have a lot of time and I'm worried 10.0.0.0.1 192.168.1.254.

My manager hinted that it would be difficult to sponsor because they told USCIS that they are gonna hire local(Americans).

Please advise. What are my options?
